We had a fun NYE with the girls at home. It is traditional here in Germany to set off fireworks at Midnight. But since Becca and Sara would not be up that late we shot all ours at about 7pm. It get's Dark here at 4:30 so it was plenty dark and COLD. We all bundled up and met our neighbors outside while Scott was in charge of the show. The fireworks we bought were great. I had no idea as to what they did but figured it'd be good. Now I have a better idea as to what I should buy for next year. I took a photo of some of the rockets. All the stuff we had cost a total of about 15 Euro (about $22). In the states I know that just one rocket would cost that. Fireworks are so cheap here! And it's all completely legal. I could not believe they sell all this at the local grocery or hardware store. Anyone can buy it although there are age warnings. Fireworks were going off around the neighborhood all night. I think they started to fade about 2am. I didn't get many good photos with all the smoke but here are just a couple. Our neighbors are Annette, Carlos and Angelina. Rebecca really enjoyed all the smoke that the fireworks made. After they shot off and were so pretty she would say "there's more smoke". Cute. Sara would jump a little when she heard the BANG and look at me as if she was about to cry then we would all clap and say YEA!! and she would clap and smile and laugh. It was funny.
We wish everyone a Healthy and Happy New Year in 2009!!!
