Munich

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

We spent the weekend at the Schmitt house in Munich. Our original plan was to go to the Oktoberfest with Gerd and all the children. But after realizing how crowded and not stroller friendly this was going to be we decided against it. Despite our change in plans we had a wonderful time. The children played well together, Patrick beat Scott at checkers and Rebecca got to be very cuddly with Manu and Baby Stefanie. Sara loved all the room to crawl around and toys to play with. On Saturday evening David and Hanna joined us at Gerd and Manu's house for Raclette. It was Very Good. I have a raclette at home but have yet to use it. Now that we are living here I will have to get it out. It's actually a Swiss way of eating. Sunday we had a large breakfast, Rebecca played with the rabbits in their bunny palace and then we packed up and got on the road. The traffic was very bad due to it being the last day of Oktoberfest and lots of people were leaving Munich. Our 1hr 45 min drive was almost 3 hrs. Here are a few photos from our weekend out.
